Activists, who have been staging a round the clock vigil at Mashtots Park to protest the construction of store fronts, are calling on all concerned to join them and for greater media coverage.

They’ve been staging a vigil for the past eight days and say they will stay till construction is halted.

Below is a video interview with Father Gyuregh of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

He states that it is his firm conviction that plans to use Yerevan parkland, already in short supply, to serve the commercial interests of a few is morally wrong and unacceptable.

Father Gyuregh adds that the government must make the right decision and halt construction at the site.
