Bright Armenia Faction Wants Government to Assist Armenians in Lebanon
MP Edmon Marukyan, who heads the Bright Armenia faction in the National Assembly, has written to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, urging him to send vital assistance to Armenians in Lebanon.
Marukyan, citing the recent mass protests in Lebanon, argues that the security of Armenians in that country is threatened.
“Under these conditions, the Armenian government must support the hundreds of thousands of our compatriots in order not to leave them alone in this situation,” Marukyan writes.
He does not specify what type of assistance Armenia should send to Lebanon or how the Armenian government can ensure the security of Armenians living there.
Bright Armenia holds seventeen seats in the parliament.
