Armenia Drafts Bill Establishing Visa Free Regime for Serbians

The Armenian government today approved a draft bill establishing a visa free regime for Serbian citizens entering Armenia.

During today's cabinet session, Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts noted that on October 25, 2019, the Serbian government decided to unilaterally abolish the visa requirement for Armenian citizens with ordinary passports, and in keeping with the principle of reciprocity, Armenia developed the above bill.

If passed by the parliament, Serbian citizens can stay in the Republic of Armenia for a maximum of 180 days within a year.

"I hope this decision will encourage direct flights from Yerevan to Belgrade and other Serbian cities, from Gyumri to Belgrade and other cities. This tendency, to implement visa-free travel with different countries, will contribute to our foreign policy,” Prime Minister Pashinyan said after the decision.

Deputy Minister Adonts noted that Armenia has a visa free regime with some sixty countries.
