Ruben Hayrapetyan Released; Police Find No Illegal Guns
Former Football Federation of Armenia President Ruben Hayrapetyan, detained earlier today in Yerevan on suspicion illegal arms possession, has been released.
Exiting a Yerevan police station, Hayrapetyan told reporters that his detainment was the latest example of government “monkey business”.
He claimed that Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan ordered his detainment.
“They try to scare me, but they don't understand that my species can't be scared in that way,” Hayrapetyan said, adding that one day he’d been the one forcing cops to lie down and that he’d wipe his feet on them.
Hayrapetyan said he owns three legal guns.
Hayrapetyan, a prominent businessman in Armenia, also served as a Republican Party of Armenia MP.
