Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, now on an official visit to Denmark, today met with Queen Margrethe II of Denmark at the Amalienborg Royal Palace in Copenhagen.

Mirzoyan was accompanied by the Speaker of the Danish Parliament Henrik Dam Kristensen.   

Queen Margrethe II and Ararat Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by the Armenian parliament, highlighted the significant role of the two Danish missionaries Maria Jacobsen and Karen Jeppe in saving Armenian orphans during the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

The Danish queen and Mirzoyan expressed the hope that relations between Copenhagen and Yerevan would expand in future.
