The Armenian Ministry of Defense says that given the drastic spread of the coronavirus in neighboring Iran, parents and relatives of those serving in the Armenia Army will no be permitted to visit them and that all types of leave and vacation time for conscript soldiers will be cancelled, including certain types of medical leave.

The ministry, in a statement released today, urges parents of military service personnel not to attempt to visit the bases where their children are serving.

“We urge the relatives of all servicemen to refrain from visits to military units and to be conscious of the measures taken since they are in the best interests of the servicemen,” the statement reads.

The ministry does not say when the restrictions will end.
