Samvel Karapetyan, Armenian Monument Specialist, Dead at 58

Historian, architect researcher and author Samvel Karapetyan passed away today in Yerevan.

Karapetyan, who headed the Yerevan branch of the Research on Armenian Architecture NGO, was 58.

Over the course of three decades, Karapetyan surveyed and catalogued thousands of items of Armenian history and architecture in the Republic of Armenia and throughout historic Armenia.

Ցավում եմ որ այս մարդը իր կենդանության օրոք արժանի ճանաչում չի ունեցել հայերի շրջանում մասնավորապես երիտասարդության շրջանաում։ Շատ տհաճ մշակույթ է ձևավորվել Հայաստանում որ մինչև մարդը չի մահանում, չեն խոսում այդ մարդու աշխատանքների մասին, չեն գնահատում այդ մարդուն, ես ցավում եմ, որ այս մարդու մասին կենդանության օրոք չեմ իմացել։ Մարդուն պետք է կենդանության օրոք հարգել ու գնահատել։ Մեր բնակչությունը (ժողովուրդը) Էսպիսի մարդկանցով հետաքրքրվելու փոխարեն միայն հիմարություններով է հետաքրքրվում, ինտերնետ ես մտնում փնթի քաղաքական նյութեր են, հեռուստացույց ես միացնում նույնն են, մի արժեք հանդիսացող նյութ չենք հանդիպու։
