
Rolan Martirosov, Chief Builder of Su-34, Dead at 84
Rolan Martirosov, who oversaw construction of the Sukhoi Su-34 fighter bomber, died today at the age of 84.
Martirosov, born to an Armenian family from the Karabakh village of Chardakhlu, graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute and later worked at the Sukhov Design Bureau.
The fighter, intended for the Soviet Air Force, first flew in 1992.
