Armenia: Government Approves Lump Sum Payments to Families with Children to Soften Coronavirus Finacial Impact

The Armenian government will financially assist families with children under the age of eighteen who have been impacted by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

One of the following eligibility requirements must be met.

* The parents must not have had registered work as of March 12, 2020, and no part-time or full-time work from March 12-March 31.

 *The family, as of March 12, 2020, was not included in the Family Vulnerability Assessment System, or the family’s vulnerability score was lower than 28.01.

* The child’s parents, or one of them, were not individual entrepreneurs as of March 31, 2006 whose business was not terminated as of the same date as prescribed by Armenian legislation.

Support is provided in the form of a one-time payment of 26,500 AMD ($53) per child.

Registration for the assistance is via the State Social Security Service’s website.
