Moscow: Prominent Physicist Mishik Ghazaryan Dies from Covid-19
Prominent physicist Mishik Ghazaryan died today at a Moscow hospital after contracting Covid-19.
Ghazaryan was 72.
Ghazaryan and his 69-year-old wife Arpik Hasratyan, an epidemiologist, were hospitalized with pneumonia two weeks ago. Hasratyan also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Hasratyan died on March 26.
Ghazaryan, a winner of the USSR State Prize in science and technology, specialized in laser physics and optics. He was born in Akhta, a former village in the southern part of present-day Hrazdan.
