On March 30, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian sent a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, congratulating the Chinese leader for the progress Beijing has made in the fight against the novel coronavirus.

Sarkissian, in his letter, emphasized that the epidemic has been contained due to the decisive measures of the Chinese government, as well as the tireless and selfless dedication of the people.

In response, Xi Jinping, wrote the following to Sarkissian, this according to the Armenian president’s office.

"On behalf of the Government of the People's Republic of China and the people of China, I express my sincere support and solidarity with the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the people of Armenia, and wish all the patients a speedy recovery.

The Chinese side strongly supports Armenia's efforts to fight the coronavirus and is ready to provide further assistance.

China and Armenia are friendly partners and cooperating countries. Paying special attention to the development of relations between the two countries, I am ready to work with you to strengthen cooperation in the field of healthcare in our two countries, jointly protecting the lives and health of the peoples of our countries.”
