Armenia Postpones Plan to Plant Ten Million Trees

Armenia has postponed a project to plant ten million trees this year.

The Ministry of the Environment issued a statement today that given the coronavirus state of emergency in Armenia the project will have to be postponed until late 2021.

In October 2019, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan announced the plan to plant ten million trees by October 2020.

‘Our government has developed a very ambitious plan, which should reach its peak by October 10, 2020. On that day we plan to plant 10 million trees in the Republic of Armenia, on the 10th day of the 10th month, which will symbolize the unity of 10 million Armenians around the Armenian statehood and the Republic of Armenia and in the Republic of Armenia," Pashinyan stated at the opening of the Global Innovation Forum on October 16, 2019.
