Yerevan: Real Estate Developer and Mayor Meet to Discuss Halabyan Street Residential Complex
Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan today met with representatives of Renovation Project Management Company, a real estate developer that wants to build a residential complex adjacent to Halabyan Street in the city’s Ajapnyak District.
According to a statement released by the Yerevan Municipality, the complex as planned consists of five multi-story apartment buildings that have the capacity to rehouse residents now living in nearby dilapidated buildings deemed unsafe.
These residents will be allocated apartments in the complex.
The municipality's press release doesn't mention the number of those to be rehoused.
The site in question measures 35,000 square meters. The developers claim that only 6,000 square meters will be allocated for the buildings and that the rest will be landscaped for public green space.
Mayor Marutyan, according to the press release, said that the community welcomes developers who both improve the urban environment and solve social issues in tandem.
