The negative impact of the coronavirus on the Armenian economy can be seen in official statistics.

In March of this year, compared to the same month of the previous year, Armenia's Economic Activity Index (EAI) decreased by 4.9%, this according to the country’s Statistical Committee.

The biggest decline was in the construction sector. The volume of construction in March this year, compared to the same month last year, decreased by 26.2%.

Domestic trade turnover decreased by 9.9%, services by 4.8%.

Manufacturing declined by 1.9%.

Agricultural data is published quarterly.

In the first quarter of 2020, the EAI increased by 4% when compared to 2019.
