Armenia: National Assembly Staffer Tests Positive for Covid-19
Armenian National Assembly Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan announced today that a staffer on the parliament’s payroll has tested positive for the coronavirus and is now in isolation.
While staffers and MPs are not required to wear masks or gloves in the National Assembly, Mirzoyan urged them to pay more attention to social distancing guidelines.
National Assembly Deputy Chief of Staff Lilit Minasyan told Hetq that the person had been tested yesterday at Yerevan’s Nork Infectious Diseases Hospital.
Minasyan said the building was disinfected last night.
MPs were tested for the virus in late March. None tested positive at the time.
