Armenia: Government Allocates 3 Billion AMD for Spitak Earthquake Homeless
The Armenian government will allocate some 3 billion AMD ($6.2M) to provide housing for people left homeless due to the 1988 Spitak Eartquake.
1.8 billion AMD will be spent to construct homes for 153 families and to buy apartments for nine in Lori Province.
988 million AMD will be used to construct homes for 55 families and to purchase apartments for four in Shirak.
143 million AMD will be spent to construct homes for eight families in Aragatzotn.
The work is being carried out by the staffs of Lori, Shirak and Aragatsotn Provincial Governors with the support of the Fuller Housing Center charitable NGO.
