Armenian President Hosts Karabakh War Hero Arkadt Ter-Tadevosyan
Today, on the 28th anniversary of the liberation of Shushi, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian hosted Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (aka Komandos), who oversaw the Armenian military operation to liberate the town from Azerbaijani occupation.
"The liberation of Shushi is of great importance for all of us. After the liberation of Shushi, everyone knew that we would win the war," Sarkissian said congratulating the legendary commander.
Ter-Tadevosyan, according to a statement released by Sarkissian’s office, thanked the Armenian president for his hospitality and stressed that the Shushi victory was due to the unity of the Armenian people.
"We fought that struggle as a people, not just the army. It was a victory for the unity of our people. We also need that unity in the future for further victories,” Ter-Tadevosyan said.
Ter-Tadevosyan was granted the rank of Major General for his accomplishments during the Karabakh War and was awarded the title Hero of Artsakh.
