Former Armenian PM Karapetyan Appears Before “Four Day War” Commission

Former Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan showed up at today’s session of a parliamentary commission investigating aspects of the April 2016 Four Day War.

While Karapetyan held no government post at the time, it is likely that he’s been asked to clarify a comment he made on March 1, 2017, as prime minister, that fuel had been mixed with kerosene, causing the breakdown of Armenian military equipment.

The commission has already heard a number of current and former officials, including former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, former Chief of the Intelligence Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Adviser to the Prime Minister Arshak Karapetyan.

Serzh Sargsyan, who served as President of Armenia during the 2016 war, and Leon Mnatsakanyan, Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army at the time, have also appeared before the to the commission.
