$660,000 Grant to Armenia to Promote "Green" Funding

Armenia’s Ministry of the Environment reports that the Green Climate Fund (GCF) has approved $660,000 in funding for the Support to Environmental Preparation in Armenia grant program initiated by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia.

The Green Climate Foundation is the largest "green" foundation set up under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The goal of the foundation is to provide developing countries with financial mechanisms to adapt to climate change.

This project is the first grant program in the field of "green" financing by the Foundation in the Republic of Armenia and is unprecedented in its size.

The grant will be used to support the promotion of "green" funding in Armenia and the creation of a more favorable natural environment.
