Prosperous Armenia Party MPs Boycott National Assembly
Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) MPs walked out of today’s National Assembly session to protest yesterday’s secret ballot stripping BHK party leader Gagik Tsarukyan of his parliamentary immunity.
BHK faction Secretary Arman Abovyan rose from his seat and announced the boycott, describing yesterday’s vote as part of a government sponsored political vendetta against Tsarukyan.
Abovyan said that the world is watching the unfolding campaign of intimidation against Tsarukyan.
The National Security Service has accused MP Gagik Tsarukyan of committing a number of crimes including illegal commercial activity and vote buying.
