Free Democrats Haven't Invited Coalition Parties to Tomorrow's Congress

Representatives of the three parties comprising the ruling government coalition in Armenia have not been invited to attend tomorrow’s second party congress of the Free Democrats.

“This situation, in which Armenia finds itself, is a result of the ruling coalition,” Alexander Arzumanyan told Hetq.

Invitations have been sent out to a number of political forces both within the parliament and without. Those not invited are the Republican Part, Rule of Law and Prosperous Armenia.

Arzumanyan, a representative of the Free Democrats and a former foreign minister of Armenia, told Hetq that, “We are an oppositionist party. What can those parties discuss or contribute to our congress? We, along with our supporters, are looking for ways to extricate the country from this situation.”

Arzumanyan said the party had reached no decision as to whether they would run candidates on the majoritarian ballot.
