Member of Armenian Parliament's Defense and Security Committee: "We can hit any target in Azerbaijan"

Commenting on the recent fighting along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, Tigran Karapetyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense and Security, said today that Armenian military forces can strike any area or strategic target in Azerbaijan.

Karapetyan, in a specially convened sitting of the Armenian parliament, said that the Azerbaijani military-political leadership has not learned its lesson from the “slap” it received from Armenian forces since yesterday.

Armenia’s Ministry of Defense blames Azerbaijan for launching the shelling and gunfire on July 12.

"Yesterday, during the whole day's fighting, our armed forces refrained from firing in the direction of peaceful settlements. The fire was directed at military equipment and engineering structures. Unfortunately, we will have to respond, to respond very painfully,” Karapetyan told Armenian MPs.

Karapetyan said that Azerbaijani forces had deployed drones on the frontline and had fired various caliber weapons on Armenian military positions.

He added that the Azerbaijani leadership has been cut off from reality and that the consequences will be severe.

"The Armenian army has, to put it mildly, changed in the last two years. We can hit any territory in Azerbaijan, hit any object of strategic importance. This adventurism will have irreversible consequences for Azerbaijan. The peace you wished for in19 94 will seem like a sweet dream. Come to terms with the fact that we control the heights, and that our boys are there and will be,” Karapetyan said.
