Armenian Defense Minister Describes Border Situation to Greek Chargé d'Affaires

Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan today hosted the Chargé d'Affaires of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of Armenia Dimitrios Felopoulos and Military Attaché of the Embassy, ​​Colonel Dimosthenis Simaiakis.

According to the ministry’s press service, the current state and achievements of Armenian-Greek bilateral defense cooperation and its further growth were discussed during the meeting.

The Greek side has confirmed the continuation of military education and Greek language training programs.

Minister Tonoyan stressed the importance of holding military-political consultations and expressed hope that the planned events will be implemented soon.

On the completion of his mission in Armenia, Tonoyan thanked Simaiakis for his significant contribution to the development of Armenian-Greek defense cooperation during his tenure and awarded him with the Medal for Military Cooperation.

Issues related to regional security were also discussed during the meeting.

Tonoyan described the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the destabilizing regional developments taking place there.
