Armenian President Armen Sarkissian sent the following letter to Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I, this according to a statement released by his office.

"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of this great tragedy that has befallen our friend Lebanon, the fraternal Lebanese people and our Lebanese-Armenian compatriots.

The alliance of Armenian national structures and united actions will also swerve as strong support to overcome this human and government crisis."

President Sarkissian expressed his support to Catholicos Aram I, the spiritual brotherhood, national and church figures, and all Lebanese-Armenians.

Today, President Sarkissian discussed the situation in Beirut, the issues related to the Lebanese-Armenians, during telephone conversations with Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) President Berge Setrakian and ARF Bureau Chairman Hagop Der Khachadourian.
