Staffers of Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (HRD-Ombudsman) made an unannounced visit today to the Kosh Penitentiary and talked to an inmate who had declared a hunger strike.

The staffers, according to a statement released by the HRD, talked to other inmates who raised medical care and health related issues.

The HRD will summarize the issues raised during the visit and report them to the appropriate state agencies.

The correctional facility is in Armenia’s Aragatzotn Province.
