
Armenia to Allocate 556 Million AMD to Assist Olympic Athletes and Sports Programs
With the Tokyo Summer Olympics on tap for 2021, the government of Armenia today approved a program designed to monthly financial benefits to competitive athletes, national team coaches and sports physicians.
The government says it’s part of an overall plan to better prepare athletes for the upcoming Summer Games and to spur the development of competitive sports in general.
Athletes in six sports are now preparing for the 2021 Summer Olympics.
The government will allocate 556 million AMD ($1.140M) for one year. 232 million AMD will be allocated in 2020.
