Artsakh Parliament Committee Discusses Need to Change Education Standards

On September 3, the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports of the Artsakh National Assembly convened a discussion on the need to adopt new education standards.

It appears that Artsakh, in this respect, is following developments in Armenia where recent changes in the public education sector (standards, syllabi) have been hotly debated.

Committee member Sofia Hovsepyan introduced a draft bill on new education standards, noting they are based on the national strategic plan.

“I won’t say that bill and the standards are in total accord. Of course, there are flaws, since we can’t observe and include all possible issues,” Hovsepyan said.
