
Artsakh President Inspects Renovation of Karvatchar Roadway
Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan yesterday toured the country’s Shahumyan and Martakert regions and inspected the ongoing asphalting of a seventeen kilometer stretch of the Vardenis (Armenia) to Martakert (Artsakh) roadway that runs through the Artsakh town of Karvatchar.
Harutyunyan, according to a statement released by his office, noted that the development of Karvatchar and the Shahumyan region is a matter of strategic importance for the government.
The Artsakh President then visited the was Harutyunagomer settlement in the Martakert region, where the 3.2 km long asphalt road connecting the community with the highway was opened for use.
Harutyunyan said his government plans to repair and asphalt the roads of all communities adjacent to the highways during the next five years.
Harutyunyan also visited the Kharkhapout border checkpoint, inquired about the work being done, and urged staffers to show a more compassionate attitude towards those visiting Artsakh.
