Vardenis Mayor: Residents Not Panicking After Shelling
Vardenis Mayor Aram Melkonyan tells Hetq that residents in Vardenis, a town in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province on the southeastern shore of Lake Sevan, haven’t panicked due to earlier shelling from Azerbaijani forces.
"People are accustomed to that booming. They are doing well,” Melkonyan told Hetq.
Melkonyan says he has no information whether anyone was injured in the shelling.
An Armenian Defense Ministry spokesperson earlier reported that Azerbaijani forces had shelled the Vardenis-Sotk roadway.
