Armenian Ministry of Defense representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan reported today that Azerbaijani military units are gathering in large numbers along the Artsakh-Iran border (Araks River) in an attempt to advance.

Hovhannisyan fighting over the past few days have hindered any attempt to retrieve the bodies of soldiers from the battlefield and that the ministry has no information regarding Armenian soldiers taken captive by Azerbaijani forces.

He said that in the past, the matter was handled by the Red Cross but that today no such connection exists.

Hovhannisyan said that international calls to halt Turkish involvement in the fighting have had little effect.
