A Qatar airliner laden with humanitarian assistance collected by Armenians in the U.S. arrived in Yerevan today after Ankara banned it from using Turkish airspace.

The cargo is destined for civilians impacted by the ongoing fighting in Artsakh.

On October 15, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia (CACA) reported that Turkey was refusing to provide its airspace for the transportation of humanitarian aid to Armenia.  

The CACA, in a statement, reported that the Qatar Airways Los Angeles-Yerevan humanitarian aid flight scheduled for October 15 would not take place. The airline didn’t provide any specifics for the cancellation at the time.
