Russian FM Lavrov Says Moscow is Busy Drafting Ceasefire Monitoring Mechanisms
Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia may, in the very near future, agree on a mechanism to control the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, this according to a TASS article citing the press conference remarks of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"In order for the ceasefire to work - we have already seen this after two documents that were adopted and did not allow to radically change the situation on the ground - [it is necessary] to create a mechanism for monitoring compliance with the ceasefire regime. We are actively working on this. including our Defense Ministry, first with colleagues from Azerbaijan and Armenia. I hope that such a mechanism will be agreed in the very near future, "Lavrov said according to the article.
Lavrov added that it is necessary to stop hostilities and stop strikes on civilian targets.
