Armenian Human Rights Defender Meets with Visiting French Parliamentary Delegation

Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan today, in Yerevan, met with a visiting delegation of current and former French MPs and journalists.

Tatoyan, according to a statement released by his office, described military actions taken by Azerbaijan against non-military and civilian targets in Artsakh.

He said that two civilians in Armenia have been killed and two wounded since fighting broke out last month. At least 39 civilians in Artsakh have been killed and 120 wounded.

"The targeting of civilians and the use of prohibited weapons against them, the recruitment of mercenary terrorists, the inhuman treatment of Armenian prisoners of war by the Azerbaijani armed forces and anti-Armenian sentiment prove that the Azerbaijani goal is to carry out ethnic cleansing in Artsakh by terrorist methods," Tatoyan told the French delegation and presented corroborating evidence.

Tatoyan urged delegation members to travel to Artsakh to see for themselves the damage and atrocities committed by Azerbaijani armed forces.
