Former Artsakh Defense Minister and Artsakh Defense Army Commander Jalal Harutyunyan has been awarded the title of “Hero of Artsakh”.

Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, in a Facebook post today, writes that he decided to award the title to Jalal Harutyunyan "for his exceptional services to the Republic of Artsakh in the defense and security of the homeland, for his courage and personal courage.”

Jalal Harutyunyan was replaced as defense minister and ADA commander yesterday after the Artsakh government reported he had been wounded in an army operation. No details were provided.
