November 2 – Artsakh Defense Army Repels Several Azerbaijani Military Offensives

Armenian Defense Ministry Special Representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan, at his daily briefing today in Yerevan, said that the Artsakh Defense Army repelled several attempted Azerbaijani military offensives along Artsakh’s northwestern border last night.

He said that Armenian artillery was able to neutralize many of the fleeing Azerbaijani troops.

Hovhannisyan said that Armenian forces repulsed attempted Azerbaijani attacks early in the day in the north (Martakert), the central region (Martuni) and in the south, adding that Armenian troops had the opportunity, in some areas, to pursue the retreating Azerbaijani forces and achieved some tactical gains.

He said that Azerbaijani troops managed to seize one or two Armenian positions in south of Martuni, in the direction of Tchartar.

He confirmed earlier reports that Azerbaijani forces shelled the village of Davit Bek, in Armenia's southern Syunik Province, killing one civilian.

Hovhanisyan concluded by saying that Armenian artillery units have been able to neutralize most attempted Azerbaijani troop movements.
