The Russian Foreign Ministry, according to a TASS article today, has called of the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to show “restraint and take the lead towards de-escalation in the region.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, at a news briefing today, said that the transfer of militants to Karabakh threatens to create a terrorist enclave in the Caucasus.

“These are radical mercenaries who profess the ideology of jihadism. All this cannot but cause serious concern for us, since in the future such a development of the situation is fraught with the emergence of a new terrorist enclave, now in the Transcaucasia,” Zakharova said.
