
Gagik Tsarukyan Believes He's Being Politically Persecuted, Says Lawyer
A lawyer for Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party arrested yesterday, told Hetq that his client believes he’s being politically persecuted for criticizing the Pashinyan government for its handling of the war in Artsakh.
Smbat Minasyan told Hetq that Tsarukyan had been arrested on suspicion of organizing a rally in violation of the established order.
Several political parties and organizations organized a rally in Yerevan calling for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s resignation and that the ceasefire statement, signed by Pashinyan, Putin and Aliyev be voided.
