Aliyev Rules Out Any Special Status for Nagorno Karabakh
Azerbaijani President Ilham Ali, according to a TASS report, has ruled out any special status for Nagorno Karabakh.
"There can be no question of any status. There is a united Azerbaijan, a multinational, multi-religious country," Alitev said on Monday, November 16, during a visit to the Fizuli and Jebrail regions.
The footage of the visit was broadcast by Azerbaijani State Television on November 17.
According to Aliyev, the Armenian population of the region will be granted the same rights as the rest of the citizens of Azerbaijan.
"All citizens of Azerbaijan, representing different peoples and religions, live in peace and good neighborliness. The Armenian people will also live in these conditions," the Azerbaijani leader said, adding that Baku considers the Karabakh Armenians as its citizens.
