
Armenia: Opposition Leaders Charged with Organizing/Holding Illegal Rally
Eleven political opposition leaders in Armenia have been charged as part of a larger Special Investigative Service case looking into a November 11 rally in Yerevan calling for the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan.
Among the accused are the chairman of the Homeland Party Chairman Artur Vanetsyan, ARF members Artzvik Minasyan and Ishkhan Saghatelyan, Masis Mayor Davit Hambardzumyan, and National Agenda Party Council Chairman Ara Hakobyan.
Earlier today, the Special Investigation Service (SIS) charged Homeland Party member Ara Sahakyan, National Security Party President Garnik Isagulyan, and ARF member Gegham Manukyan for the same infraction, organizing and holding a rally in contravention of the law. (Article 225 of the Criminal Code)
