Gagik Tsarukyan Released; No Charges Filed Against Prosperous Armenia Party leader

Eleven individuals arrested and charged yesterday for organizing and holding an illegal rally on November 11 calling for the resignation of PM Nikol Pashinyan have been released on their own recognizance pending any future trial.

Those arrested for violating the law on holding public rallies during the ongoing state of war were Hayrenik Party President Arthur Vanetsyan and party members party members Arsen Babayan and Ara Sahakyan;  ARF members Artsvik Minasyan, Gegham Manukyan and Ishkhan Saghatelyan; Masis Mayor Davit Hambardzumyan; National Agenda Party Council Chairman Ara Hakobyan; National Security Party Chairman Garnik Isagulyan, Republican Part of Armenia Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov; and  One Armenia Party Chairman Artur Ghazinyan.

All have signed affidavits that they will not leave the country.

Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, also arrested on November 11 as he headed to the rally, has also been released.

The court sated that Tsarukyan is no longer considered a suspect in the case. No charges were filed against him.
