Relatives of Armenian POW/MIA Servicemen Protest In Yerevan

Relatives of Armenian servicemen still unaccounted for in the recent Artsakh war rallied in front of the Government Building in Yerevan today demanding a face to face meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

They want specific information as to the whereabouts of the servicemen and say their patience is running thin.

A small group were permitted inside the building, but it is not known whether they   meet with Pashinyan or another government official.

Yesterday, Pashinyan met with members of families of Armenian servicemen and civilians missing or captured in the Artsakh war, confessing that information on POWs and MIAs is still being processed.

An interdepartmental commission has been set up to deal with these and related issues, including locating civilians who’ve gone missing.

The Armenian government’s Unified Information Center earlier reported that the search for the missing and the exhumation of the bodies of the victims is underway through the mediation of the representatives of the Russian Federation Peacekeeping Group and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
