Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan has urged Armenian authorities to explain what is being done to secure the country’s borders from reported incursions by Azerbaijani troops.

Tatoyan, responding to public concerns over recent reports that Azerbaijani troops had crossed the border into Armenia in the Sotk gold mine region, stated today that the Armenian government is obliged to inform the public regarding such matters.

“We must realize that we are talking about the defense of our state, our people and the physical security and safety of each person,” Tatoyan said, accusing the government of keeping the public in the dark.
