Protesters Shut Down Yerevan Metro
Yerevan authorities shut down the city’s subway system today after a group of people, demanding the resignation of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, blocked the doors on one of the trains.
Subway passengers were evacuated, and the entire system was shut down, Yerevan Metro spokesperson Tatev Khachatryan told Hetq.
Those calling for Pashinyan’s resignation said they would carry out acts of civil disobedience today if the prime minister didn’t step down voluntarily.
Khachatryan said that the entire system was shut down to prevent further such acts.
