Azerbaijani Troops Enter Hin Tagher Village; Negotiations Underway

The Armenian Defense Ministry reports that on December 12, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, gathering additional personnel, military equipment, including heavy artillery, violated the November 9 ceasefire by launching an attack on the villages of Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd in the Hadrut region of the Artsakh Republic.

The ministry says that after several hours of fighting, Azerbaijani troops managed to enter the village of Hin Tagher and approach the village of Khtsaberd.

Six Armenian soldiers were wounded in the fighting.

These latest developments were discussed by leaders of the Russian peacekeeping contingent stationed in Artsakh.

Armenian Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan, now in Russia on a working visit, also discussed the issue during a meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.

The ministry says that negotiations are underway in the Hadrut region between Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani servicemen to resolve the situation and return the parties to their former positions.
