A youth group calling itself "Know Your Country" is launching a project aimed at cleaning up Armenian historical monument sites.

"There are numerous historical sites that serve as guides to Armenia's past. Today they have been neglected and are suffering as a result. These religious and cultural monuments are located on the territory of independent Armenia but are left to their own devices," says a statement released by the group.

Recently, volunteers visited the Tsaghats Kar Monastery (989 AD) located in Vayots Dzor and collected rubbish that was marring the beauty of the site.
