Putin, Macron Discuss Tomorrow's Moscow Meeting on Karabakh

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron today, by telephone, discussed issues related to the scheduled trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in Moscow on January 11.

According to the Kremlin press service, Macron supported Russia's efforts to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The importance of urgent humanitarian assistance to the population affected by the recent war was emphasized, including assistance via specialized international organizations.

 Putin and Macron congratulated each other on the Christmas and New Year holidays and agreed to maintain contacts at various levels.

According to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, tomorrow’s meeting will focus on regional economic issues including the opening of regional communications, international cargo transportation, (from Armenia to Russia and Iran), as well as from the central part of Armenia via the Nakhichevan railway to Syunik region.
