Putin Urges International Community to Provide Humanitarian Assistance to Karabakh

At the World economic Forum in Davos, Russian President Vladimir Putin called on the international community to provide humanitarian assistance to Nagorno Karabakh.

"The international community, of course, the states involved in the conflict settlement process must assist the affected regions in resolving humanitarian issues related to the return of refugees, the restoration of destroyed infrastructure, the protection of history, religion and cultural monuments," Putin said, according to a statement released by his office.

Putin said that Russia has actively worked to end the armed conflict in Nagorno Karabakh, and that the clauses of the November 9 trilateral ceasefire are being implemented consistently.

Putin said that Russia has sought to follow the agreements reached within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, in particular with the other co-chair countries, the United States and France.
