Members of the Yerevan State University (YSU) Board of Trustees failed to elect a president today.

None of the two candidates for the post received enough votes.

The two candidates were Haykaz Navasardyan, Director of the A. Shahinyan PhysMath School, and Karlen Khachatryan, Chair of Management and Business at YSU’s Faculty of Economic and Management.

29 out of 32 members of the council were present at the closed-door vote. Haykaz Navasardyan received 14 and Karlen Khachatryan 15 votes, short of the 17 votes needed to win the election.
