Turkey Seeks Georgian Involvement in Karabakh Conflict Settlement Process
Turkish Foreign Minister Mülut Çavuşolu, at a recent news conference with his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov in Ankara, said that his government is trying to convince Georgia to get involved in the Karabakh conflict settlement process.
In January, Çavuşolu announced that Ankara wanted to expand the number of countries involved in the Karabakh conflict settlement process and was proposing a “3+3 formula” that includes Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Georgia and Turkey.
"Let's hope that Georgia will participate in the 3 + 3 formula. Everyone will benefit from it," the Turkish minister said at the news conference.
Çavuşolu said that due to a change of government in Georgia the scheduled meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia in Baku had been postponed.
"We need to help stop the fire. So, we plan to cooperate on a 3 + 3 formula," Çavuşolu said.
