Russian Defense Ministry Says Armenian Military Didn’t Use Iskander Missiles in Artsakh War
Following Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan’s February 23rd allegation that only 10% of the Iskander mobile short-range ballistic missile systems employed by the Armenian military in the recent Artsakh war worked, the Russian Defense Ministry today stated that none of these systems were used in the fighting.
“According to the available objective and reliable information, which has been confirmed by the objective control system, none of these missile systems were used during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," said Major General Igor Konashenkov who heads the ministry’s Directorate of Media Service and Information.
Konashenkov said that the entire stockpile of missiles is still housed in the warehouses of the RA Armed Forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was misled in the issue of using complexes in the region.
"Apparently, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Nikol Pashinyan, was misled, as a result of which he provided incorrect information," Konashenkov said.
